1. Sometimes going up and down pre-war walk-ups in SoHo day after day can wear a broker down. Then there are the days when I get the adventurous client who’d like to see the roof of their potential home. Like an urban sherpa I guide them up the final stairway that leads to a metallic door. The imposing door looks as if it belongs on a primal vault. Often I have to lean my shoulder into the door - it swings open in a screeching arc, announcing it’s climbers to the city. And there it is, in all its majesty, New York City. In this image I snapped with my phone you see the New Museum soaring above it’s pre-war neighbors, and if you look closely there is a lone figure, a lone climber, in a state of awe, I imagine.
